Choosing the Right Eyewash Station

Eye Wash Formats

• 500ml Eye Wash Bottles: Sterile saline solution in sealed bottles for sustained irrigation of contaminated eyes. Suited to chemical and industrial environments where thorough flushing is critical. Minimum 15 minutes continuous irrigation recommended for chemical splash.
• 20ml Eye Wash Pods: Single-use sterile pods for rinsing dust, debris, and minor irritants from the eye. Compact format for first aid kits and point-of-use dispensers. Suited to offices, workshops, and general workplace deployment.
• Wall-Mounted Stations: Fixed installations with clear signage for rapid identification during emergencies. Available with bottles, pods, or both. Position at eye level near the primary hazard source.

Workplace Eye Wash Requirements

Eye wash provision should be positioned as close as practical to the hazard source - ideally within 10 seconds of walking distance. For chemical environments, COSHH assessments should specify the type and volume of eye wash required based on the chemicals in use. Sterile saline solution is appropriate for most workplace eye wash applications. Eye wash stations should be checked monthly and bottles replaced before their expiry date.
